What is AWANA?

Awana stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. The Awana ministry began in 1941 on the north side of Chicago as one church wanted to reach the unchurched children in its neighborhood with the Gospel, the “Good News” that Jesus Christ saves. Our Rush City Baptist Church Awana Clubs are part of more than 12,000 church clubs in the United States. Awana can also be found in over 47,000 churches in more than 104 other countries. Our community clubs are open to all youth and we have children attending from many different churches. While your child will not be required to attend other functions of our church, all the services and opportunities of the church are open to your family. You can register your children for Awana by filling out the form below.
